Name & Position w/ H100:
Quadra Walton. I am a part of the amazing broadcast and journalism team with the Houston100.
Background & Experiences:
Quadra was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She has always been involved in many different things and found herself in a space of creativity to showcase. She has assisted with the Hennything Festivals and produced one of her own, along with four other colleagues. Quadra recently interned at the The New Amazing 102.5FM with a prominent personality and has begun to grow one of her own. With an interest in radio, television, and film, she attends Texas Southern University, where she will be receiving a degree in Mass Communications. As a journalist with the Houston 100, Quadra plans to keep the community encouraged on the importance of minority-owned businesses.
Importance of H100:
The Houston 100 is important because it’s all about Black culture and serving the community. I think that we have a community of achievers and it’s time for everyone to get this exposure. We will always be stronger together, than apart. Let us use this time to unite, buy, and support all of our Black businesses, and continue to grow the Black dollar.
Why?:
The entire project is my reason why. The real question is why not? This is about setting the Black culture apart from the rest. It will be a testimony to how resilient we can be by starting to close the racial-wealth gap and begin to establish generational wealth for all those who are going to come after us. I am excited to surround myself with Black excellence and be apart of a bigger movement.
One word that describes me: Energy.
In anything that I do, I put my strength and power into it. And, with everything I do, I make sure I am a light. I am here to feel, receive, and reciprocate good energy.
